Kucing yg palingku sayang

        Suatu hari aku ke kedai makan yang biasa aku kunjungi untuk bersarapan. Seperti biasa, menu ku, roti telur dan air goji panas. Sementara menunggu roti sampai, aku berborak-borak sambil sekali sekala aku menghirup air goji kegemaranku. Tiba-tiba aku terpandang seekor kucing yang cacat sebelah kaki belakangnya. Kucing itu telah menarik perhatianku dan serta merta aku berhenti berborak. Ku perhatikan sahaja kucing itu. Tersentuh hatiku apabila melihat cara dia berjalan demi mengisi perutnya yang kosong. apabila ada sahaja orang yang meletakkan makanan di bawah, dengan terhencut-hencut dia menuju ke arah sisa makanan. Tetapi malangnya kucing yang lebih besar dan sihat telah menamparnya. Siapalah manusia yang sangat kejam yang telah membuang kucing kecil lagi cacat itu. Sekarang si cacat itu tidak berayah dan beribu.             

        Aku berasa terlalu kesian terhadap kucing yang cacat itu. Disebabkan rasa kesian dan tidak sampai hati, aku mengambil keputusan untuk mendekati kucing tersebut. Apabila ku angkat sahaja kucing yang cacat itu, dia mengiau tanpa suara. Kesian sungguh. Lalu aku membawa si cacat itu ke mejaku dan aku memberikan sedikit makanan. Tetapi si cacat itu tidak mahu makan, sebaliknya dia menyondol-nyondolkan muka dan badannya di kaki ku. Lalu aku mengambilnya dan letak di ribaku. Kuusap-usap kepala dan badannya. Manja sungguh si cacat itu. Aku teruskan mengusap sehingga si cacat itu terlena dipangkuanku.

        Selesai bersarapan, aku terus pulang ke rumah. Kuberikan makanan yang lembut khas untuk si kecil. Si cacat yang sudah begitu lapar terus melahap makanan tersebut sehingga terpaksa ditambah kali yang kedua. Dalam pada masa itu juga aku meletakkan sedikit air untuk si cacat minum.

        Sekarang si cacat ku gelar "Capik". Si Capik sudah kubersihkan. Setiap malam si Capik akan tidur di sebelahku atau di atas badanku. Manakala semasa aku mengadap komputer pula si Capik akan duduk diribaku ataupun di atas bahuku. Memang manja si Capik. Walaupun rupanya tidak secantik dengan kucing-kucingku yang lain, bulu tidak sepanjang dan segebu kucing-kucingku yang lain, tetapi kerana keadaannya dan tahap kemanjaannya telah menjadikan si Capik kucing yang sangat aku sayang. Dan sehingga sekarang ini, aku masih tersentuh hati apabila melihat cara dia berjalan untuk mendapatkan kasih sayang dariku.
